Regular Classes

Regular classes take place at the Centre.  Events include yoga, Pilates, table tennis, art circle, folk dance, line dancing, New Age Kurling and various dance and athletic classes. Contact and website details are given for each activity, and users are directed to contact

Centre facilities

Our building offers versatile spaces for recreational activities, business meetings, social gatherings, and more. Ideal for private events, including weddings, children’s parties, and celebrations. Hire fees and proceeds from fundraising events like pop-up pubs, quizzes, markets, and live music support building maintenance. 

The Café area has both internal and external seating on a covered patio.

Hauxton Centre Rooms

Main hall – Two rooms

This area can be divided into two with a foldable dividing soundproof wall. When both rooms are joined, the space is 17m x 10m.

  • The adjoining kitchen has a 1.8m wide serving hatch into this room.
  • The room is air-conditioned and mechanically ventilated with 100% fresh air
  • The Oak wood effect vinyl floor is sprung on a Harlequin Actitherm system, and has underfloor heating. Perfect for dancing and high impact activities.
  • In theatre style layout, this room accommodates up to 150 people.
  • The room has audio and video connections to the sound system. Music can be streamed from an Apple iOS or Android device, directly to the in-ceiling speakers.
Large room
  • When the dividing wall is in place, the large room is square at 10m x 10m.
  • It has large windows across a 6m width with opening double doors facing south across the recreation ground. There is an additional large window facing East.
  • The kitchen has a 1.8m wide serving hatch into this room.
  • The room is air-conditioned and mechanically ventilated with 100% fresh air
  • The Oak wood effect vinyl floor is sprung on a Harlequin Actitherm system, and has underfloor heating.
  • This room has wireless audio connections to the sound system, but cannot be used alone for evening parties involving amplified audio.
Small room
  • When the dividing wall is in place, the small room is rectangular at 7m x 10m. It is separated from the main hall by a sound-proofed dividing wall, allowing this room to be used whilst the large room is occupied, but the two rooms can be hired by regular user groups and opened up to give a space 17m x 10m – see ‘Main hall – Two rooms’ above.
  • The small room has a 3m wide window facing East across the Recreation ground, which incorporates an emergency exit door.
  • There is no direct access to this room from the kitchen.
  • The room is air-conditioned and mechanically ventilated with 100% fresh air
  • The Oak wood effect vinyl floor is sprung on a Harlequin Actitherm system, and has underfloor heating.
  • This room also has audio and video connections.

The meeting room is also available for hire – excluding parties. 

Kitchen

Our venue provides a kitchen equipped with a small fridge and ovens, as well as cutlery, glasses, and crockery for hirers to use. However, hirers must supply their own baking trays, tea towels, kitchen roll, cleaning products, and cloths. There may be shared kitchen use with the café, but this is negotiable. For more details, please discuss your requirements with the Booking Manager.

Children’s Playground

The playground is on the recreation ground adjacent to the Centre, with the indoor and outside seating areas of the Cafe overlooking it. This facility is available to hirers of the hall. There is also a basketball practice court.

Room Hire

Check room availability on our bookings calendar below, then email bookings@hauxton.net with date, time slot, and party description. We’ll confirm your booking by email and send an invoice. Full fees due within 7 days to secure date, with full hire fees due 4 weeks before booking.

Further Information
  • Please make an appointment to visit the centre upon booking, and before your booking date to ensure the venue is right for you.
  • Your booking slot includes, setting up & clearing up time. Please  book your slot to allow for this.

  • The Centre closes at 10:30pm, but this may be extended to 11:00pm in some cases upon application to the Charity.  Late night Fees – after 10.30pm £25 per 30 minutes.
  • Late leaving fees – If you are late vacating the building after the allotted time, you will be charged – £10 per 15 minutes/ £25 per 30 minutes.

  • For events/parties where amplified music is played in the evening, the whole hall must be booked.
  • We have a noise limiter system, so if you bring your own amplified music device it must be plugged into this system
  • No dogs (other than Guide Dogs) are permitted in the Centre.
  • No ‘Blu Tack’. Do not fix anything directly to the walls.
  • No bouncy castles/ inflatables are permitted inside the venue or outside.
  • A community External Defibrillator is located on the wall outside the main door entrance
    • NB. The above rates are structured on the basis of local groups; any prospective large or outside group wishing to use the Centre, must contact the Bookings Manager for a quotation.
    • The kitchen is connected to the large room, but whilst multiple regular clubs are using the building, the kitchen will be shared with other regular user groups for making tea and coffee.
    • Please note that at any time, the Hauxton Centre Cafe may be in operation and open to the general public

Booking Rules & Regs

  • Booking is final on receipt of deposit. 
  • Cancellations up to 4 weeks before event attract a full refund. 
  • £100 refundable damages/cleaning deposit required for for one-off bookings.
  • Charges for damages/extra cleaning apply. (Venue manager may request £200 damages deposit).
  • Payment via bank transfer, details on invoice.
  • Enquiries answered within 3 working days. Phone availability: Tuesdays 7pm-8.30pm, Fridays 9.30am-11am.”
