Hauxton Centre sits in the green outdoor space at the centre of the village and beside the children’s playground providing a central meeting place for families and residents, and enabling events such as village fetes, children’s parties and family events (enhanced by the grassed area outside). There are spaces for 20 vehicles (including 2 disabled vehicle spaces) in the car park as well as cycle racks.
Inside the Centre there is a coffee bar area with both internal and external seating, see architect’s illustration.
In addition to the coffee bar area, the centre has the ‘whole hall’ of 17m x 10m for large functions and activities, which can be divided into two sub-rooms (large hall and small hall) separated by a noise-proof folding wall. Either or both rooms can be booked for private events or activities.
For meetings we have a separate meeting room. A plan of the Centre is shown below. Click on the image to enlarge it.
