Work begins on tennis courts on Hauxton Sports Ground

Building work is under way to create two new tennis courts for Hauxton and Harston residents.  The project, which is being funded by a £59,500 grant from FCC Communities Foundation, will provide two new hard surface tennis courts to LTA club standards, once it is opened, hopefully by the end of June of this year.  Jane Ward, Chair of Hauxton Parish Council says: “It’s great to see our vision of a multi-sport venue moving closer to reality. We are extremely grateful for the funding WREN has given us and we’re looking forward to opening to the public.”

FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community, conservation and heritage projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund. Cheryl Raynor, FCC Communities Foundation’s local grant manager says: “We are delighted to be supporting the Hauxton Tennis Courts project and pleased that work has recently started on site, we look forward to seeing this project develop over the coming weeks and become a fantastic community facility.”
