Hauxton Village Hall sits at the centre of the village, both physically and community-wise. Before becoming the village hall the building was the village school and then the pre-school. The village hall is run by a Trust known as the Village Hall Management Committee (VHMC), which was set up, as a condition of purchase, when it was purchased in 1976 by the Parish Council from the Benefice of Hauxton for the sum of £10,100. The VHMC are the Managing Trustees and manage the charity (village hall) on a day to day basis. All members of the VHMC are trustees. VHMC meetings are not public and minutes are not published.
The Parish Council are the Custodian Trustees. Their sole purpose is to hold title to the property. They have no powers of management over the village hall and must act in accordance with the instructions of the management committee.
